Dawn R. Taylor is an abstract expressionist and mixed-media artist whose work explores emotion, memory and story. Working intuitively, she allows each piece to develop through color, texture and experimentation. Her practice moves freely between painting and writing—two creative languages that continually inform and inspire one another.

My process begins with feeling rather than a fixed plan. I work intuitively, allowing color, texture and movement to guide the piece as it develops. Acrylic, molding paste, cement, charcoal, fabric and written words become part of that conversation. Sometimes I begin with a memory or emotion; other times, the work reveals itself as I create. I follow it until the piece tells me it is finished.
My work is bold, textured and deeply personal. Through abstract expressionism and mixed media, I explore memory, relationships, loss, identity and the places where emotion refuses to stay quiet. Each piece carries its own story—some drawn from lived experience, others from dreams, nightmares or moments that demand to be expressed.
